Somerville is a borough in Somerset County, New Jersey, situated on 2.362 square miles.  At the 2010 census, Somerville had 12,098 people, 4,591 households, and 2,778 families residing in the borough.

Main Street Somerville maintains most of its historical buildings, some of them housing the borough's diverse selection of restaurants and specialty shops that draw people from the surrounding area. In many ways, Somerville remains Somerset County's downtown, and is the heart of its designated Regional Center.

The mix of modern amenities and an interesting and diverse past make Main Street, Somerville a unique destination for dining, strolling and visiting. Originally the center of local commerce, Somerville has evolved into a destination for boutique retail and dining with the wide variety of specialty retailers and an array of unique shops and merchandise.

Somerville's main Antique Shopping District is located on Division Street and along West Main Street near Division Street. Here visitors will find New Jersey's largest antique complex as well as many other antique, collectible, used book stores, and vintage shops.

The Somerville Public Schools serve students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade.  The Roman Catholic Diocese of Metuchen operates Immaculate High School, a private, coeducational high school, and Immaculate Conception School. a private coeducational day school for students in grades Pre-K through 8.
